People Lab Panelist: Sean McSweeney
Panelist: Sean McSweeney: Sean is the Head of Partnerships at iVirtual and previously led a team of 200 people at Toronto’s Mountain Equipment Co-op through 20 years of changes in the retail environment. He is the co-author of “The Gender Intelligent Retailer” .
When I started working at Mountain Equipment Co-op, in the mid-’90s (just before gendered outdoor clothing became a thing?!) there was a b&w photo on the wall in the clothing section of a cyclist, riding in a snowstorm, with cross country ski’s strapped to their bike. This photo was Sean. Purposeful, determined and calm. When I was considering panelists for our event on the importance of kindness and compassion in leadership he was one of the first on the list.
I asked him to share a moment of kindness he has experienced:
“Running a marathon in Toronto I was “hitting the wall” and a spectator shared their baby’s goldfish snacks with me which helped me make it to the end of the race...I was very grateful to the kid and the parent for that act of kindness.”
I’m looking forward to hearing more from Sean at the People Lab Panel April 4th! Reserve your spot here.
